O. P. Jindal Memorial Park- Hisar

Urban green spaces play a critical role in improving the livability of rapidly growing cities by delivering ecological, environmental, and social benefits. Recognizing this need, our Foundation undertook the restoration, development, and sustained maintenance of O. P. Jindal Memorial Park, a 24-acre urban green space in Hisar, transforming it into a thriving ecological and community asset.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this initiative contributes to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 15: Life on Land. Through this intervention, the project has helped strengthen urban ecosystems, promote responsible environmental practices, enhance green cover to mitigate climate-related impacts, and support the conservation of local biodiversity.

Driven by a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, the Foundation reimagined the park—once a neglected and underutilized space—into a vibrant, inclusive, and accessible public environment. Through structured planning, ecological restoration, landscape enhancement, and continuous stewardship over five years, the initiative revived the site’s ecological potential while significantly improving its functional and aesthetic value. The park now serves as a welcoming recreational destination for residents and visitors, encouraging community interaction, well-being, and a stronger connection with nature.

A standout feature of the park is its innovative integration of green infrastructure and artistic design. The development of the city’s first green walls and vertical gardens, alongside steel sculptures, artistic murals, and curated topiary, has created a unique blend of sustainability, creativity, and culture. These elements not only enrich the visual identity of the park but also promote environmental awareness and responsible urban living.

Today, O. P. Jindal Memorial Park stands as a compelling model of sustainable urban development and long-term ecological stewardship.
